VHS is a standard-definition format with roughly 240 lines of horizontal resolution. When you convert VHS to digital with us, we extract the best possible picture using professional decks and time base correction. The output will always reflect the original recording quality. We send you a reinforced Media Box with tracked postage. You pack your VHS tapes and post them back to us using the prepaid return label. Each tape is inspected, cleaned, and played on broadcast-grade S-Video decks with time base correction. The video is captured in real time, colour corrected, and encoded as a high-quality MP4 file. Once we have finished the digital transfer, your original VHS tapes and new digital files are returned via tracked delivery.

If you have VHS tapes from overseas holidays or relatives abroad, we can digitise them without any issues. In most cases, yes. We carefully clean mould from the tape surface before attempting playback. Mild to moderate mould usually comes off well and the tape plays normally underneath. Severe cases can leave permanent damage to the magnetic coating, but we inspect every VHS tape and let you know its condition before we proceed with the digital transfer.

VHS to digital transfer is a real-time process, so a three-hour tape takes roughly three hours to capture. On top of that, each tape goes through inspection, head cleaning, and colour correction.
