Having our most precious archive of VHS memories digitised by Digital Legacy was a superb experience. Everything, from the first interaction on the website to ordering and receiving the digitised videos was seamless, immensely reassuring and very professionally done. It’s obviously a little concerning to send off the only copies you have of your memories but the smart pre-packaging sent worked perfectly and the simplicity of accounting for each tape and labelling each before sending off was helpful. Turnaround Times
We value your time as much as your memories. Exact timing depends on what you send in and the condition it arrives in.
Ideally yes, because removing prints from albums gives us a clean, flat surface for the best possible scan. However, we know that some albums have adhesive pages or fragile bindings where removal risks damaging the photos. If you would rather send the albums intact, we can scan whole pages. Just let us know when you place your order and we will handle them with extra care.
We scan standard prints at 600 DPI, which produces files large enough to reprint at double the original size with no visible loss of sharpness. Slides and negatives are scanned at 2400–3200 DPI to capture the enormous amount of detail held in the film grain, far more than any print ever showed. If you need even higher resolution for a specific purpose (exhibition prints, publication, etc.), let us know and we can accommodate.
We can apply careful digital restoration to improve faded colours, reduce yellowing, and correct colour casts. For more serious damage, such as tears, water stains, and missing sections, we offer enhanced restoration as an optional extra. We always keep the original unedited scan alongside any corrected version, so nothing is lost in the process.
Absolutely. Send everything in one box and we will sort them by type. Each format is priced individually (prints per photo, slides per slide, negatives per frame), so you only pay for what you have. Mixing formats in a single order is very common and is not a problem at all.
