Use these detailed characteristics to confirm you have the right format
Not sure what format you have? .
We do not develop unprocessed film ourselves, but we can recommend a specialist film lab that still processes APS. Once developed, we can then scan the negatives for you. Check the indicator on the cartridge: if it shows 1 or 2, the film is unexposed or partially exposed and needs developing first.
APS negatives are smaller than 35mm, which means they need higher magnification scanning to produce usable files. The cartridges also require careful manual opening and re-assembly. Both factors add time and specialist handling to the process.
Yes. We scan every frame on every cartridge and return the film inside the original cartridges. You can review the digital files and decide what to keep.
The APS frame is smaller than 35mm, roughly 60% of the area, so the scans will contain less detail than an equivalent 35mm negative. That said, our high-magnification scanning extracts every bit of detail the format can offer, and the results are more than good enough for sharing, printing, and preserving.
It means the film was shot but never developed. We cannot scan undeveloped film. You will need to have the film processed by a specialist lab first, then send the developed cartridge to us for scanning.
